A new poster for the upcoming post-apocalyptic action movie “The Book of Eli” has come online.  The film stars focuses on a lone hero (Denzel Washington) who guards the Book of Eli, which provides knowledge that could redeem society, but a despot (Gary Oldman) of a small, makeshift town plans to take possession of the book.

The Book of Eli, directed by Allen and Albert Hughes from the script by Gary Whitta stars Denzel Washington (Eli), Gary Oldman (Carnegie), Mila Kunis (Solara), Ray Stevenson (Redridge), Jennifer Beals, Michael Gambon and Tom Waits hits theaters on January 15th, 2010.

If you’ve ever wished there was a “Fallout 3″ movie in the works, this is the absolute closest thing to it you’ll probably ever see. Plot details are still a bit sketchy, with Denzel’s Eli traveling cross country post-apocalypse carrying some sort of book meant to save us all. Along the way he meets and trains Mila Kunis as an apprentice and must keep the book from falling into the hands of Gary Oldman.

The Book of Eli hits theaters January 15th, 2010.

At every Comic-Con, the movie studios premiere a ton of new images and posters. This year is no different as Warner Bros has the first movie posters for “The Book of Eli”.

“The Book of Eli” set in a future post-apocalyptic  mixing action, drama and science fiction, tells the journey of a lone hero named Eli (who plays Denzel Washington), who struggles in a deserted land of postapocaliptic America to protect a sacred book that might be the key to saving humanity.  In Washington in the second division Gary Oldman, recovered as the villain role, and Mila Kunis, seen recently in “Max Payne”. The brothers Albert and Allen Hughes, responsible for the adaptation of “From Hell”, move the camera in this production from Warner Bros.

In addition to Denzel Washington, Mila Kunis and Gary Oldman, the movie will see Ray Stevenson, Michael Gambon and Jennifer Beals among the cast ensemble.

Beside presenting a better look at Eli, the video also unravels a peek at several other characters. It is filled with action sequences and explosions as well. Halfway through the trailer, Eli displays his impressive fighting skills in knocking down his enemies alone.

Filmed in New Mexico, “The Book of Eli” will be opened in theaters across the U.S. January 15, 2010.
